Job summary

The State of Washington's Department of Corrections is seeking an internal Community Corrections Officer 3 (CCO3) for the Seattle area. This full-time, permanent position is based at the Tukwila Field Office in Seattle and offers a 5% premium pay in King County and an ORCA transit benefit.

Shift is 0800–1700, Monday through Friday. The agency emphasizes safety, equity, and public service as it works to improve community safety and supervise individuals under correctional oversight.

Qualifications

• Armed staff must carry and use a department-issued firearm.
• Must possess an unrestricted vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Washington.
• Ability to work with individuals with criminal backgrounds.
• Bachelor’s degree with three years of professional work experience in adult or juvenile corrections, counseling, social work, social service, or law enforcement, or seven years equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead CCOs by providing training and coaching to other CCOs.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve public safety.
