Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Communications Supervisor in our Operational Technology group in Elko, NV. You will oversee the Autonomous Haulage and surface automation projects, supervising engineers and technicians, and coordinating with Open Pit and IT teams to deliver robust, safe, and cost-aware solutions.

You will lead field deployments, monitor system health, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive standardization across networks with a focus on performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years operating a high-availability operation-critical communications network in a mining setting.
• 5+ years in a leadership or technical services role within mining.
• Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical/Mining or equivalent experience.
• FCC Technician license with progression to GROL.
• Strong knowledge of wired/wireless telecom protocols.
• Experience with Motorola 2-way systems, CapMax, LTE/5G.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate deployment, maintenance, and repair of the autonomous network hardware and software.
• Lead field teams and ensure project deliverables within budget.
• Ensure compliance with design and regulatory requirements.
• Train local teams and establish system-wide configuration standards.
• Monitor health of AHS-related systems and report findings.
• Evaluate technology solutions for safety and feasibility.
• Collaborate with Open Pit and IT departments.
• Attend multi-discipline technical meetings and set goals.
