Job summary

Thomas Young Group in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning projects from initiation to completion and drive energy-efficiency improvements across MEP systems.

You will develop commissioning plans, analyze system performance, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with project teams to ensure regulatory compliance and sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in HVAC, controls and commissioning.
• Proven leadership and ability to manage projects independently.
• Proficiency in building automation systems and energy modeling tools.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with sustainability certifications (LEED, WELL).
• Commissioning certifications (CxA, CCP, BCxP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning projects from initiation to completion.
• Develop and implement commissioning plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Analyze system performance, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with project teams to meet goals and verify system compliance.
• Conduct field assessments, energy audits, and optimize MEP systems.
