Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking a Commissioning Agent to join Thomasson Commissioning Services, focusing on electrical and/or mechanical systems and energy efficiency projects. The role involves commissioning plan creation, design reviews, kickoff meetings, testing, and final reporting.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of commissioning experience, knowledge of building codes, and potentially an ACG certification. Travel is expected 30–50% to support diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
• 2-5 years of commissioning or related experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, automatic temperature control systems, and/or testing, adjusting and balancing.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
• Knowledge of construction procurement and design development processes.
• ACG commissioning certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work on the Commissioning Team as a Commissioning Agent with emphasis on electrical and/or mechanical systems.
• Perform or assist in commissioning activities including plan creation, design reviews, kickoff meetings, progress reports, functional testing and final report creation.
• Develop owner project requirements.
• Perform pre-functional tests, observe startup and prepare reports.
• Balance multiple project tasks to meet schedules.
• Apply applicable codes and supervise project close-out.
• Support business development and marketing activities as experience grows.
