Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Commercial Roofing Superintendent to oversee field operations for commercial, industrial, and multi-family roofing projects across the San Francisco Bay Area. You will direct crews, foremen, and subcontractors, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

This role emphasizes strong leadership, scheduling, and coordination with project managers and customers. A bilingual English/Spanish capability is strongly preferred, and a valid California driver’s license

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years in a Commercial Roofing Superintendent or similar field leadership role.
• Experience supervising commercial, industrial, and multi-family roofing projects from mobilization through completion.
• Experience coordinating multiple projects and crews simultaneously is preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of single-ply roofing systems (TPO, PVC, EPDM), BUR, Modified Bitumen, and fluid-applied systems.
• Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day activities of roofing crews, foremen, and subcontractors across multiple active projects.
• Recruit, coordinate, and retain qualified field personnel using industry relationships.
• Assign manpower based on schedules and production requirements.
• Coach and mentor field personnel to maintain productivity and high workmanship standards.
• Coordinate staffing to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime and labor costs.
• Oversee installation activities for commercial and multi-family roofing systems.
• Perform routine job-site inspections and ensure compliance with manufacturer specs and codes.
• Identify installation issues and implement field solutions to maintain quality and schedule.
• Review flashing, penetrations, and punch-list items prior to project completion.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture and conduct toolbox talks.
• Coordinate material deliveries, equipment scheduling, and site logistics.
• Interact with customers, property managers, and inspectors as primary field representative.
