Job summary

P&A Roofing & Sheet Metal, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale seeks an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive estimates for new-construction and reroofing projects across South Florida.

You will manage bid opportunities from plan review through proposal submission and turnover to operations. The role requires mastery of blueprints, takeoffs, and The EDGE software, with 5+ years of local estimating experience and strong coordination with field teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial roofing estimating experience.
• Hands-on experience with The EDGE estimating software mandatory.
• Direct South Florida estimating experience (Miami-Dade/Broward/Palm Beach counties).
• Advanced ability to read blueprints, specifications and roofing plans.

Responsibilities

• Use The EDGE software to build detailed, production-ready commercial roofing estimates with takeoffs and pricing.
• Analyze drawings, plans, specs, schedules, bid documents, addenda and scope requirements.
• Calculate roofing areas, insulation, margins, quantities, labor, equipment, and subcontracted scopes.
• Develop complete material, labor, equipment, waste, overhead and margin calculations; verify quantities before bid submission.
• Prepare competitive bids for ground-up construction and reroofing projects; include scope and pricing in proposals.
• Track bid invitations, deadlines, addenda, and revisions; coordinate with sales, leadership, and contractors.
• Handoff awarded estimates to project management with budgets and purchasing needs.
