Job summary

Calvert Masonry Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead high-profile masonry, concrete, and restoration projects.

You will oversee multiple projects, coordinating with the Project Manager and Foreman to ensure start-up, execution, and safety compliance across all sites in Northern Virginia and the DMV area. The role offers a competitive salary range ($80,000–$110,000+ per year) based on experience, full-time hours, and comprehensive benefits, including

Qualifications

• Commercial masonry and concrete field experience, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
• Strong ability to read and interpret complex architectural drawings, structural plans, and project specifications.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor start-up processes to align with schedule needs.
• Initiate and supervise masonry mock-ups and flashing mock-ups for approved detailing.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and Job Foreman for interface with other trades.
• Inspect quality and productivity during site visits and resolve issues with supervisors.
• Review schedules, values, and cash-flow-driven activities.
• Assist foreman and PM with layout, inventory, and material orders.
• Address safety concerns and support Safety Director in enforcing policies.
• Adjust masonry schedule for project profitability and schedule adherence.
• Maintain relationships with General Contractor staff and escalate as needed.
• Schedule equipment, manpower, and subcontractor movements across sites.
