Job summary

Kitchen Guard Phoenix is seeking an experienced technician to join as a 1099 contractor for commercial kitchen exhaust system work. You will install components, diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, and perform preventative maintenance on rooftop fans in active restaurant environments.

Candidates must have an active electrical license, COI, and proven experience with commercial equipment. The role requires independent work on roofs and ladders with flexible scheduling and potential for

Qualifications

• Active electrical license required.
• COI and proof of insurance prior to starting work.
• Experience with commercial equipment, not residential.
• Strong mechanical, electrical or HVAC background.
• Ability to work independently and complete jobs correctly the first time.
• Comfortable working on roofs and ladders in active commercial environments.

Responsibilities

• Install hinge kits on upblast exhaust fans for access and compliance.
• Install access panels and ports on duct systems per NFPA 96.
• Replace and extend electrical whips to code and safety standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance on rooftop exhaust fans (belts, bearings, housings).
• Test and diagnose fan motors and performance issues.
• Troubleshoot and repair commercial kitchen exhaust systems.
• Support maintenance programs for restaurant and facilities.
• Work with CaptiveAire and similar commercial equipment.
