Job summary

Kitchen Guard Phoenix is seeking a skilled technician to install hinges on exhaust fans, add access panels, and extend electrical wiring to meet code compliance. You will perform preventative maintenance on rooftop fans, test motors, and troubleshoot commercial kitchen exhaust systems in active restaurant environments.

The role involves working on roofs and ladders, with 1099 contractor terms and hourly pay.

Qualifications

Active electrical license is required.
Proof of insurance required.
Certificate of Insurance (COI) must be provided prior to starting work.
Proven experience working on commercial equipment (not residential).
Strong mechanical, electrical, or HVAC background.
Ability to work independently and complete jobs correctly the first time.
Comfortable working on roofs, ladders, and in active commercial environments.

Responsibilities

Install hinge kits on upblast exhaust fans for access and compliance.
Install access panels and ports on duct systems (NFPA 96).
Replace and extend electrical whips to meet code and safety requirements.
Perform preventative maintenance on rooftop exhaust fans (belts, bearings, housings).
Test and diagnose fan motors (amp draws, performance issues).
Troubleshoot and repair commercial kitchen exhaust systems.
Work with CaptiveAire and similar equipment.
Support ongoing maintenance programs for clients.
