Description

The Service Technician is responsible for completing the installation, service, and maintenance of various commercial HVAC systems. Must have experience with inspection, repair, and maintenance of HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
• Performing preventative maintenance for a variety of commercial equipment.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
• Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems.
• Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
• Approaching every opportunity with a learning mindset.
• Providing high-level customer service.
• Actively participating in NCCER Curriculum.
• Demonstrating proficiency and knowledge of air duct distribution systems, both commercial and industrial.
• Knowing relevant building codes, current legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures for installation and maintenance of systems.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to follow and communicate instructions both verbally and in writing.
• Mastery of HVAC components and terminology.
• Experience with inspection, repair, and maintenance of HVAC equipment.
• Experience with HVAC system start-up/commissioning.
• Working knowledge of HVAC concepts such as leak detection, evacuation, recovery, charging, heat pumps, and air quality systems.
• Working knowledge of service tools and testing devices.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma required; technical school preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• EPA Certification required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Minimum 10+ years of HVAC experience required.

Physical Requirements

• Standing, walking, and sitting.
• Talking or hearing, in person and via telephone.
• Using hands and fingers to handle objects or controls.
• Reaching with hands and arms.
• Stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Driving.
