Description

The Service Technician is responsible for completing the installation, service, and maintenance of various commercial HVAC systems. Must have experience with inspection, repair, and maintenance of HVAC equipment.

Responsibilities

1. Installing, maintaining, and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
2. Performing preventative maintenance for a variety of commercial equipment.
3. Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
4. Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems.
5. Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
6. Approaching every opportunity with a learning mindset.
7. Providing high-level customer service.
8. Actively participating in NCCER Curriculum.
9. Demonstrating proficiency and knowledge of air duct distribution systems, both commercial and industrial.
10. Knowing relevant building codes, current legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures for system installation and maintenance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Ability to follow and communicate instructions both verbally and in writing.
2. Mastery of HVAC components and terminology.
3. Experience with inspection, repair, and maintenance of HVAC equipment.
4. Experience with HVAC system start-up/commissioning.
5. Working knowledge of HVAC concepts like leak detection, evacuation, recovery, charging, heat pumps, and air quality systems.
6. Working knowledge of service tools and testing devices.

Education and Experience

1. High School Diploma required; technical school preferred.
2. OSHA 10 preferred.
3. EPA Certification.
4. Valid driver’s license.
5. Minimum of 10+ years of HVAC experience required.

Physical Requirements

1. Standing, walking, and sitting.
2. Talking or hearing, both in person and by telephone.
3. Using hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or controls.
4. Reaching with hands and arms.
5. Stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds.
