Job summary

Perfection Group is seeking a Lead Commercial HVAC Service Technician to support customers across Morristown, Jefferson City, and surrounding areas. You will independently solve complex equipment problems, build trusted customer relationships, and provide technical leadership to the team.

You will work on a variety of commercial/industrial HVAC systems, lead technical efforts, and mentor less-experienced technicians while traveling to client sites and contributing to on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of commercial/industrial HVAC service experience.
• Strong knowledge of chillers, boilers, hydronic systems, and controls.
• Ability to diagnose complex equipment problems and provide practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including chillers, boilers, rooftop units, split systems, and heat pumps.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, hydronic, and controls issues.
• Identify repairs, obtain parts, and calibrate equipment per manufacturer specs.
• Explain conditions, repairs, and solutions clearly to customers.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance to less-experienced technicians.
• Travel to customer locations across Morristown, Jefferson City, and nearby areas.
• Coordinate with dispatch and communicate schedule changes promptly.
• Document service calls and resolutions in company software.
• Participate in rotating on-call, including nights/weekends.
• Maintain clean, safe work area, vehicle, and tools.
• Engage in company/vendor training programs.

Perfection Group is hiring a Lead Commercial HVAC Service Technician to support customers throughout Morristown, Jefferson City, and the surrounding area.

We’re looking for a highly skilled technician who can independently solve complex equipment problems, build trusted customer relationships, and provide technical leadership to the team. You’ll work on a variety of commercial and industrial HVAC systems while helping less-experienced technicians strengthen their capabilities.

Paid drive time, a company vehicle, major tools, and continued technical training are provided.

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including chillers, boilers, rooftop units, split systems, and heat pumps
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, hydronic, and controls-related issues
• Identify necessary repairs, obtain replacement parts, and calibrate equipment according to manufacturer recommendations
• Explain equipment conditions, repair needs, and recommended solutions clearly to customers
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
• Provide technical guidance and field support to less-experienced technicians
• Help troubleshoot difficult service issues and identify effective solutions
• Travel to customer locations throughout Morristown, Jefferson City, and the surrounding service area
• Coordinate with dispatch and communicate schedule changes or delays promptly
• Document service calls and resolutions accurately using company software and applications
• Participate in a rotating emergency on-call schedule, including nights and weekends
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, company vehicle, tools, and assigned equipment
• Participate in company- and vendor-provided training

You May Be a Great Fit If You

• Have five to seven years of commercial or industrial HVAC service experience
• Possess strong hands-on knowledge of chillers, controls, boilers, and hydronic systems
• Understand commercial HVAC, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and building-control systems
• Diagnose complex equipment problems accurately and develop practical solutions
• Provide patient, credible technical guidance to less-experienced technicians
• Communicate clearly, consistently, and professionally with customers, dispatch, leadership, and teammates
• Build trust through technical expertise, sound judgment, and dependable follow-through
• Work independently while remaining connected and accountable to the team
• Take ownership of your schedule, documentation, vehicle, tools, and customer commitments
• Take pride in completing safe, accurate, high-quality work
• Remain calm and dependable when responding to urgent customer needs
• Hold a Universal EPA Section 608 certification
• Have completed an accredited HVAC technical or trade-school program
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license
