Job summary

TPC Contracting in the Washington, DC area seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction to closeout. You will own schedules, manage budgets, lead subcontractor buyout, and coordinate with clients, architects, and engineers to ensure timely delivery.

Applicants should have 5+ years in project management, a related bachelor’s degree, and proficiency with Procore, Sage, and MS Project.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager in commercial construction.
• Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field or equivalent.
• Experience managing project budgets of $1M+ from preconstruction through closeout.
• Strong knowledge of contracts (AIA), scheduling, and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Own full project lifecycle management from preconstruction to closeout.
• Develop and maintain master schedules with the Superintendent.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, change orders, and monthly reporting to leadership.
• Lead subcontractor buyout: scope review, bids, negotiation, and contracts.
• Proactively manage long-lead procurement to protect schedule.
• Serve as primary contact for clients, architects, and engineers; run OAC meetings.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders to avoid delays.
• Identify risks early and develop mitigation strategies.
• Partner with Superintendent on site logistics, safety, and quality control.
• Manage permitting and inspection processes with local jurisdictions.
• Oversee closeout, punch lists, warranties, and final billing.
• Mentor project engineers or assistant PMs.
