Job summary

Cicero Construction Group is hiring a Commercial Carpenter to join our Chicago suburbs team. This open shop contractor handles commercial renovations, tenant build-outs, and office projects with local work in Chicagoland and regional Midwest opportunities.

We expect candidates to read plans, lay out and execute framing, and coordinate with superintendents. The right person will be dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently on active job sites with safe practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of commercial carpentry experience.
• Ability to read and understand plans.
• Strong layout and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously without constant supervision.
• A self-starter attitude.
• Reliable transportation is a MUST.
• Own basic hand tools.
• Good communication skills.
• Professional attitude and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Read and work from construction plans and drawings.
• Perform commercial carpentry work on renovation and build-out projects.
• Complete layout, framing, blocking, backing, doors, hardware, casework, ceilings, and finish carpentry tasks.
• Work safely and efficiently on active job sites.
• Coordinate with superintendents, project managers, and other trades.
• Identify issues early and help solve problems in the field.
• Think ahead and plan the next steps of the work.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
