Job summary

The Valley Health System is seeking an experienced Medical Coding professional to act as a liaison between coding staff and the Corporate Billing Office, ensuring timely processing of requests and resolution of issues. The role requires CCS certification and experience in inpatient and outpatient coding.

Candidates should have strong skills in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and use of Cerner, 3M Encoder, and imaging systems. A high school diploma is required with preferred higher education in related field.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma; higher education in related field preferred.
• Three years coding experience in acute care setting with inpatient and outpatient accounts for coding, auditing and education.
• CCS certification required; RHIA or RHIT preferred.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and multiple coding and imaging systems (Cerner, Siemens, 3M Encoder).

Responsibilities

• Assist Regional Coding Manager as liaison between coders and CBO, ensuring timely processing of requests.
• Ensure accounts are released timely and address any concerns for resolution.

Description

To assist Regional Coding Manager as the liaison between coders and CBO, ensuring CBO requests get processed in a timely manner. Works to ensure that accounts are released timely and that any concerns are addressed for resolution.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma. Higher education within related field preferred.

Experiencee: Minimum three years coding experience in acute care setting with experience in both Inpatient and Outpatient accounts for coding, auditing and education.

Technical Skills: Proficient in Word, Excel, SMS, Cerner, Siemens Document Imaging and 3M Encoder. Skilled in ICD-10-CM , ICD-10-PCS and CPT.

License/Certification: CCS required; RHIA or RHIT preferred.

Other: Must be able to deal appropriately with highly sensitive and confidential material.
