AIS, Inc. is a national scientific services firm supporting maritime environmental regulatory activities and data collection for federal, state, and local agencies along the US coastline.

The company seeks a Lead Coordinator to manage the observer cadre in New England, with primary responsibility for the New England region and duties spanning pre/post trip support, trip coordination, and data submission.

Qualifications

• Must have NMFS Certified Fisheries Observer or be eligible to become certified
• Bachelor's degree in a biological science
• 30 semester hours biology credits (6 marine science, 1 math)
• Valid driver’s license
• Proficient with MS Excel and Word
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Comfort with long hours and travel up to 25%

Responsibilities

• Lead Coordinator to manage the observer cadre in New England
• Coordinate trips between vessels and observers/monitors
• Arrange transportation and ensure safety and scheduling needs
• Post and pre-trip support, data submission, and reporting
• Maintain certifications and complete trip trainer trips
• Travel to dock locations and work remotely at ports as needed
• Update observer portal and PTNS within 2 hours of embark/disembark
