Job summary

Rust Belt Recruiting in Cleveland, OH is seeking an experienced CNC Router Programmer to bridge SolidWorks designs and shop-floor execution. You will own the routing department, drive high-precision machining, and optimize toolpaths for high-end architectural millwork.

You will set up and run three 3-axis CNC routers, mentor operators, and lead first-article approvals while coordinating with project managers to meet tight production schedules. Regular overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience programming and operating 3-axis CNC wood routers
• Proficiency with AlphaCAM or strong experience in MasterCAM/Cabinet Vision with willingness to cross-train on AlphaCAM
• Strong ability to interpret SolidWorks models, technical drawings, and architectural millwork blueprints
• Ability to manage a specialized machining department independently with high autonomy

Responsibilities

• Convert SolidWorks models into AlphaCAM routing files for production
• Set up, program, and operate three 3-axis CNC routers and a point-to-point machine
• Lead first-article runs and approval processes to verify part quality
• Mentor shop floor operators to maintain throughput, safety, and quality standards
• Analyze routing paths to reduce cycle times, improve efficiency, and reduce waste
• Coordinate with project managers and assembly teams to manage shifting priorities
• Collaborate with cross-functional centers to troubleshoot machining challenges
• Drive continuous improvement across the CNC routing department
