Job summary

Silfex Inc., A Lam Research Company in Springfield, Ohio, seeks a CNC Machining Engineer to develop, optimize, and control machining processes for silicon and brittle materials to meet dimensional, cosmetic, and performance requirements for semiconductor applications.

The role requires hands-on CNC programming, GD&T, and data-driven methods such as SPC and DOEs. You will lead cross-functional projects with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Maintenance to improve safety, quality, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in mechanical/manufacturing/industrial engineering, with hands-on CNC experience.
• Master’s degree with 3+ years in a related field is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, lean/Six Sigma methods, and data-driven problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Leads CNC machining process development, optimization, and qualification for silicon and brittle materials.
• Provides cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Maintenance.
• Drives safety, quality, and cost improvements through root-cause analysis and DOE.
