Job summary

Edwards Vacuum in Buffalo, NY is seeking a CNC Machinist III to lead advanced machining operations at our new Western New York facility. You will operate high‑precision equipment, mentor junior machinists, and drive technical problem solving and continuous improvement.

This role requires deep expertise with HMCs, mill-turns, grinders, and balancers, plus strong blueprint reading, GD&T and programming basics.

Qualifications

8+ years of CNC machining experience with demonstrated technical leadership.
Proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T, and CNC programming basics.
Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting, setups, and precision adjustments.
Strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Operate and troubleshoot HMC, mill-turn, grinder, and balancer machines.
Serve as subject matter expert in safety, quality, and SOP compliance.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex machining or process issues.
Champion 6S workplace practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead root-cause analysis in collaboration with engineers and team leaders.
Mentor and train junior machinists, supporting skill development and knowledge transfer.
Recommend process optimizations and support pilot runs or new setups as needed.
