Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Fletcher, NC is seeking a Machinist IV to join the 2nd shift manufacturing team. You will operate machine tools and CNC equipment to produce complex components, while following safety protocols and quality standards.

The role requires hands-on craftsmanship, problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with gearing equipment, precision measurement tools, and collaboration across teams

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required to meet regulatory requirements.
• Experience with machine tools and CNC operations preferred.
• Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot gearing equipment and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Champion Health & Safety – identify hazards, use PPE and promote safety culture.
• Drive environmental responsibility and minimize negative environmental impact.
• Ensure high-quality standards through attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Support preventive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead in precision manufacturing with CNC and other machine tools to meet delivery targets.
• Mentor and guide team members to develop skills.
• Collaborate to solve production challenges across functions.
• Participate in TPM and process optimization to improve safety, quality and workflow.
