Job summary

Exalta Group in Bonita Springs, FL seeks a Team Lead to guide the Tip Forming Cell, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time production. You will train staff, resolve equipment and process issues, and collaborate across departments to improve cell performance.

You will read engineering drawings, set up tooling, and maintain records while promoting 5S and continuous improvement in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Three years or more experience in precision machining or medical device manufacturing.
• Experience operating or setting up OmniTurn CNC machines or similar turning equipment.
• Experience with tip forming, TIG welding, or boring is preferred.
• Prior team lead, supervisory, or mentoring experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience in an ISO/FDA-regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support employees in the Tip Forming Cell to meet safety, quality, attendance, productivity, and teamwork goals.
• Assign work based on production priorities and monitor progress; address schedule-impacting issues.
• Identify training needs and support onboarding, cross-training, and employee development.
• Resolve downtime, material shortages, tooling issues, staffing needs, and quality concerns; communicate status and handoffs.
• Provide hands-on support for tip forming, TIG welding, boring, swaging, CNC lathes and related operations; assist with setup and troubleshooting.
• Read and apply engineering drawings and work instructions; help select tooling, fixtures, materials, and measuring equipment.
• Ensure parts meet dimensional and cosmetic requirements and follow procedures and inspection methods.
• Maintain production and quality records, ERP transactions, and job clocking.
• Work with Quality and MRB to investigate nonconformances and drive corrective actions.
• Maintain 5S, standard work, and visual management; use results to reduce downtime and waste.
• Participate in Kaizen and other improvements with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Production Control.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, GMP, and FDA requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
