Job summary

Jobot seeks a hands-on Lead CNC Machine Operator in Avon, OH to lead day-to-day production across multiple machines, enforce safety (PPE, 5S), ensure parts meet specs, and drive continuous improvement on SQDC.

This permanent on-site role runs 5:30am–4:00pm, Monday–Thursday with a 3-day weekend. Benefits include quarterly profit-sharing, 401(k) match, health/dental/vision, career growth, and a direct impact on a growing manufacturing operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of lead/supervisor or senior operator experience in manufacturing.
• 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience; CNC machining preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings; use standard measuring tools.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day production across multiple machines or cells to meet safety, quality, and delivery targets.
• Promote safety-first culture with PPE, 5S, and safe work practices.
• Ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
• Coordinate workflow, adjust priorities, and reduce downtime to meet goals.
• Train and coach operators to build consistency and performance.
• Troubleshoot routine equipment/process issues with Maintenance as needed.
• Track production metrics including labor, scrap, and downtime.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Materials to resolve issues.
• Support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with material flow and inventory to keep production running efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead day-to-day production activities across multiple machines or work cells to meet safety, quality, and delivery targets

• Ensure products meet quality standards, work instructions, process control plans, and customer requirements
• Coordinate workflow, shift priorities as needed, and reduce downtime to achieve production goals
• Train, coach, and support operators to build consistency, accountability, and team performance
• Troubleshoot routine equipment or process issues and partner with Maintenance when needed
• Track and report production metrics including labor, scrap, and downtime
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Materials teams to resolve issues and improve processes
• Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist with material flow and inventory coordination to keep production running efficiently

What We’re Looking For:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years of lead, supervisor, or senior operator experience in a manufacturing environment
• 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience (CNC machining experience is strongly preferred)
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and use standard measuring tools
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems
• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
