Job summary

Astemo Americas, Inc. in Kentucky is seeking a CNC Operator to support shift operations. You will audit process control documents, enforce safety and quality policies, and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 5 years in manufacturing, strong reading/writing, basic math, and physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds. The role works in a warehouse/production environment with typical night hours.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Demonstrated leadership skills required.
• Five (5) years manufacturing experience with preference in equipment assembly or high-speed equipment operation.
• Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports.
• Basic math skills.
• Sufficient Manual dexterity to operate machines properly.
• Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect parts products.
• Physical ability to do work requiring frequent standing and walking.
• Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Audit/verify process control documents for completion and accuracy.
• Enforce all organizational initiatives, to include safety and quality policies.
• Coordinate training activities and audit effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot process issues as a means of mitigating downtime.
• Ensure production areas are safe, neat, clean, and well organized.
• Coordinate changeover activities and audit for accuracy and accountability purposes.
• Respect work hours, support production goals and timetables, which may require overtime.
• Ensures the following: Using knowledge of ISO14001 & TS16949 ensures all associates follow procedures and work instructions.
• All production, scrap, and down time reports are completed properly and timely.
• Product and/or component dimensions are checked via in-process inspection check sheets with use of various indicators and gauges as described in procedures or work instructions.
• Equipment is monitored for unusual sounds, movements or appearance that may indicate problems. Addresses any abnormalities.
• Monitors changing of simple parts and fixtures to facilitate changeover of product types.
• Visually and manually check for defects in product or workmanship.
• Accuracy of recording of process equipment settings and conditions using equipment verification check sheets.
