Job summary

New Mexico Department of Health is seeking a Preceptor and/or Neighborhood Nurse Aide for a long-term care facility assignment. The role provides direct nursing care and mentorship to Certified Nursing Assistants while supporting residents across age groups in a facility setting.

The incumbent will train staff, monitor care quality, and ensure safety as a sensitive position subject to background checks and TB screening.

Qualifications

• Certification as CMA, HHA, or CNA is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in long-term care or related duties.
• Education substitutions allowed as described in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient call signals and determine needs.
• Turn or reposition bedridden patients.
• Provide daily living assistance and mobility support.
• Review dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences.
• Measure and record intake and output; report changes.
• Provide on-going training and leadership to CNAs.
