We are seeking a skilled CMM Programmer to join our Quality team in an on‑site role at our manufacturing shop in Wilmington, North Carolina. In this role, you will work on a team of programmers to support the production of rotational components for jet engines. This position is responsible for programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and analyzing measurement data to ensure the quality of manufactured aerospace components. This role requires expertise in CMM programming, extensive knowledge of GD&T, and experience with 2D and 3D drawings. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience writing programs in Modus using the Renishaw Revo probe head. Additionally, experience with PC‑DMIS or PolyWorks and familiarity with fixed scanning probe heads and rotary tables are a plus. Familiarity with aerospace components and airfoil specifications is also desired.
Ensure safe practices are followed, in compliance with all GE Aerospace rules and regulations. Write and validate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs in Modus and other languages to support the manufacturing of rotational jet engine components such as spools, disks, and blisks. Use GE Aerospace drawings and internal specifications to understand the dimensional requirements of the part and determine measurement strategies. Thoroughly understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and how the ASME Y14.5 standard is adopted and interpreted at GE Aerospace. Use sound metrology and programming methodology to develop repeatable, robust programs that can run without operator interaction. Analyze CMM measurement results and produce data for quality engineers. Provide routine software/hardware troubleshooting support and ensure the reliability of the CMM fleet by performing calibration activities, coordinating repairs, and completing basic maintenance.
