Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a senior technical lead to steer complex projects across the enterprise. You will provide subject matter expertise in systems analysis, design, development, integration and enhancements while coordinating with stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.

You will design and implement enterprise apps, APIs, and cloud‑native components using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS, while driving best practices in security, testing and DevOps across Agile teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
• 6 years of relevant work experience with Java SpringBoot, Rest APIs and OO design.
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, Kinesis, DynamoDB, Aurora, S3, IAM, SNS/SQS, CloudWatch).
• Experience with J2EE, Oracle/SQL, Kafka/MQ, JSON/XML, web services, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with GitHub/GitLab, SonarQube, JUnit, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Experience with React, Angular, or similar JS frameworks.
• Strong security knowledge and secure coding practices.
• Demonstartaed ability to lead initiatives across Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and support of enterprise applications, APIs, and cloud‑native solutions (Java/Spring Boot/AWS).
• Build scalable microservices, event‑driven solutions, REST/SOAP APIs, and enterprise integrations.
• Champion CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps, security, observability, and code quality.
• Lead production troubleshooting and root cause analysis to improve performance and resiliency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align business requirements with Technical design.
