Job summary

Nubank is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for its Cloud Network platform engineering team. You will set the technical direction for connecting cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments and own problems spanning multiple teams.

This IC6 role emphasizes depth, design authority, and driving a scalable, auditable network platform. You will lead architectural decisions, manage end-to-end network projects, and drive simplification and cost optimization while maintaining strong security and

Qualifications

• CCIE/CCNP or equivalent experience with large-scale networking infrastructures.
• Solid hands-on experience in infrastructure automation and cloud computing (AWS) with depth in AWS networking services.
• Deep experience planning, deploying and troubleshooting network solutions at scale (BGP, firewalls, NAT, etc.).
• Strong coding skills (Python, .Net, Java, Go).
• Experience leading incident response and root cause analysis across teams.
• Strong leadership to drive complex projects through ambiguity.
• Excellent communication to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strategic acumen linking network decisions to operational efficiency and cost.
• Analytical mindset to identify root causes and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Set and evolve the technical direction of the cloud network platform.
• Lead high-level and low-level design for multi-account, multi-region, multi-geo topologies.
• Manage complex network projects end-to-end across teams.
• Reduce long-term complexity through simplification and cost optimization.
• Own operational health, incident response, postmortems, and tech debt strategy.
• Promote safe-change practices like feature flags and gradual rollout.
• Define standards for automation, testing, and code quality.
• Define observability, monitoring, and SLAs for the platform.
• Maintain domain understanding from product to network and data layers.
• Own network security posture including PCI DSS or equivalent.
• Evaluate buy vs. build and new tech with data-driven decisions.
• Mentor IC4/IC5 engineers and participate in hiring and knowledge sharing.
