Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. seeks a hands-on Lead Cloud Engineer to guide discovery, define target-state architecture for AWS, and lead lift-and-shift migrations to Kubernetes-based platforms. You will shape designs, plans, and execution with engineering and architecture peers.

You will run workshops, create migration and test plans, oversee execution, and build containerization with Terraform/Ansible, plus design CI/CD pipelines. Strong English required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of cloud development experience with AWS and migration programs.
• 1+ year of leadership guiding architecture decisions and supporting engineers.
• Strong discovery and workshop facilitation for requirements gathering.
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform; repeatable environments with Ansible.
• Containerization and Kubernetes platform experience; CI/CD design.
• Strong communication to explain trade-offs to clients and teams.
• Advanced English for workshops and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery to assess legacy workloads and third-party hosting.
• Define target-state AWS architecture including landing zones.
• Determine Kubernetes/EKS requirements and platform configs.
• Create migration and test plans for lift-and-shift delivery.
• Oversee migration execution and unblock engineering teams.
• Build containerization approaches and container-ready apps.
• Design CI/CD pipelines for repeatable builds and deployments.
• Provision and validate infrastructure with Terraform.
• Serve as hands-on cloud/DevOps SME when needed.
