Job summary

A leading technology company is seeking a Lead Cloud & Compute Engineer in Harrisburg, PA to provide leadership for enterprise cloud operations. This hybrid position requires at least 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, strategic alignment with enterprise objectives, and a strong understanding of AWS and Azure platforms. Lead Cloud & Compute Engineer (AWS / Azure)
LingaTech – a leading technology company focused on scalable enterprise solutions.

We are seeking a senior‑level engineer to provide strategic and technical leadership for enterprise cloud and compute operations, ensuring alignment with the organization’s technology vision, strategy, and service excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Cloud and Compute Architecture and Engineering Team, providing direction and strategic alignment with enterprise technology goals.
  • Define and implement enterprise‑wide cloud and compute standards, architectures, and operational best practices.
  • Interpret technology and market trends to guide leadership on infrastructure and product roadmaps.
  • Establish and maintain a customer‑focused culture across IT teams, fostering collaboration and unified service delivery.
  • Oversee ITSM process adoption and improvement for incident, problem, change, and knowledge management.
  • Develop and track KPIs, SLAs, and executive dashboards to measure cloud and compute performance and service quality.
  • Manage hybrid and multi‑cloud environments across major platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Drive governance, compliance, and security frameworks within enterprise cloud and compute systems.
  • Ensure system resiliency, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities meet enterprise standards.
  • Lead project planning, prioritization, and execution for major infrastructure initiatives.
  • Develop cost‑benefit analyses and business cases for technology investments and optimization.
  • Create and maintain operational documentation, standards, and policies for enterprise infrastructure management.
  • Continuously evaluate capacity, performance, and risk to maintain scalable and efficient IT operations.
  • Mentor technical teams and evaluate performance to ensure professional development and accountability.
  • Support executive leadership in technology planning, performance measurement, and enterprise IT strategy execution.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of proven experience leading cloud engineering teams in a large enterprise or public‑sector environment.
  • Ability to align technology strategy, standards, and roadmaps with CIO/CTO vision and enterprise objectives.
  • Demonstrated success guiding organizations that support central enterprise functions, agencies, and external customers.
  • Track record of establishing a unified, customer‑oriented culture across distributed IT teams.
  • Technical experience designing, deploying, and managing solutions across major public cloud providers (Azure/AWS preferred).
  • Proficiency in hybrid and multi‑cloud architectures, including interconnectivity, workload migration, and policy enforcement.
Preferred Skills
  • Relevant cloud certifications in AWS and/or Azure (highly desired).

Position Type: Hybrid

Hybrid Schedule: Onsite 1 day a week

Contract Length: 8 months + extensions
