Job summary

The START Center for Cancer Research in Miami seeks a Clinical Principal Investigator (physician-scientist) to oversee the planning, conduct, and regulatory compliance of sponsored early-phase oncology trials. You will guide protocol development, data interpretation, and sponsor communications from our Miami site.

Ideal candidates hold an MD, board certification in hematology/oncology, and have hands-on clinical trial experience with drug development and regulatory understanding.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent to practice as Principal Investigator.
• Board-certified in hematology and/or medical oncology.
• Clinical trials experience with drug development interest.
• Understanding of GCP, safety reporting, FDA regulations and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Manage early phase clinical trials with medical direction and protocol reviews.
• Assess feasibility of sponsor inquiries and drive growth through partnerships.
• Lead a matrix team responsible for early phase oncology trials.
• Ensure participant safety, data integrity, and rights/privacy.
• Develop relationships with sponsors and CROs involved in study conduct.
• Provide guidance to clinical operations staff and sponsors.
• Lead quality improvement efforts and foster research excellence.
• Develop strategies to enhance patient recruitment and retention.

Education
