Pearson is seeking a Lead Specialist, Learning Scientist (Clinical) to steer research across cognitive, language, literacy, and early childhood assessment domains. You will translate scientific evidence into product priorities, lead item development, and collaborate with psychometrics and digital teams. The role supports AI-enabled advancements and requires collaboration across international teams.

The position can be remote or based in our U.S. offices (San Antonio, TX or Bloomington, MN).

Qualificações

• Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Early Childhood Development, School or Clinical Psychology, or related field.
• 5+ years professional experience in speech and language, literacy, academic achievement, school or clinical psychology, and/or early childhood.
• Clinical experience administering, interpreting, or working directly with standardized assessments.
• Strong knowledge of test development, measurement principles, research methodology, data analysis, and psychometric principles.
• Ability to translate scientific/clinical evidence into strategic recommendations balancing rigor, relevance, and business needs.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and lead research plans supporting new product development and portfolio priorities.
• Provide subject-matter and scientific leadership in speech-language pathology, literacy, achievement, and early childhood assessment.
• Help define product scope and assessment design aligned with customer needs.
• Lead item development, review, and evaluation.
• Partner with psychometricians to review data and findings.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI and emerging technologies to research and product development.
• Oversee assessment materials including digital interfaces and manuals.
• Support product commercialization and customer-facing materials with scientific input.
• Represent Pearson through conferences, publications, and scholarly activity.
• Maintain flexibility in work hours and travel ~10%.
