Job summary

Pearson seeks an innovative Lead Specialist, Learning Scientist (Clinical) to lead research across academic achievement, speech, cognition, and early childhood assessments. You will translate scientific evidence into product priorities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and apply AI to advance research and product development.

The role can be remote or based in San Antonio, TX, or Bloomington, MN, with ~10% international collaboration and travel. A Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology or related field required.
• 5+ years of professional experience in speech-language pathology, literacy, or related areas.
• Clinical experience administering or interpreting standardized assessments.

Responsibilities

• Lead research plans supporting new product development and portfolio priorities.
• Provide scientific leadership in speech-language pathology, literacy, and early childhood assessment.
• Define product scope and design to be scientifically sound and clinically meaningful.
• Lead item development and evaluation using research and clinical expertise.
• Collaborate with psychometricians to review data and findings.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI and emerging technologies to research and product development.
• Oversee assessment materials including digital interfaces and scoring resources.
• Support product commercialization with scientific expertise for training and materials.
• Represent Pearson through conferences, publications, and scholarly activities.
