The Clinical Lead is responsible for providing quality patient care in a team-based environment while assisting in all aspects of medical practice under direct supervision of a physician to prepare and assist Premier Community HealthCare Group (PCHG) providers for patient visits. Partners with providers and office support to provide best-in-class experience and care to our patients.
Understands, demonstrates proficiency, and trains new clinical support Care Team Members (CTMs) on all policies and procedures related to their specialty. Includes collecting patient history, performing rooming and wrap up functions, lab draws, medication management, vaccine administration and referrals. Assist providers and newer CTMs in examinations and procedures during patient visits. Clinical Leads will be expected to understand multiple specialties and back-up other leads and Office Managers as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide front line support for clinical team, providers and other Care Team Members on service specific support and provide in the moment education on processes.
- Facilitate patient visits and ensure patients are assisted in a timely manner and maintain high patient satisfaction. Proactively identify present issues and communicate to provider.
- Clerical duties may include, but are not limited to, sending or receiving patient medical records; authorizations; obtaining lab/X-ray reports, hospital/specialists’ consultation notes, completing forms and requisitions as needed
- Lab duties may include, but are not limited to, collecting blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, logging the specimens, and preparing them for testing
- Rooming and wrap-up duties may include, but are not limited to, recording medical information/history, taking vital signs/measurements, maintaining exam rooms, cleaning and sterilizing reuseable instruments
- Medication management duties may include, but are not limited to, medication administration, completing logbooks, and medication storage management.
- Procedural duties may include, but are not limited to, EKG, spot vision, OAE test, etc.
- Perform all duties according to policies and procedures set forth by PCHG while representing PCHG’s mission through behavior, language, and actions.
- Know peers within clinic and know where to find resources to perform duties. Reach out to Clinical Lead, Director of Nursing, Director of Risk & Compliance, and training department as needed.
- Perform only those functions for which Care Team Member is educationally prepared.
- Identify and address gaps between and amongst departments.
- Proactively address sensitive and complex patient complaints and be able to deescalate upset patients with ease and professionalism.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) on PCHG policies and procedures. Identifying areas of opportunity to improve and provide effective solutions with the Office Manager and colleagues.
- Demonstrates proficiency in multiple departments.
- Demonstrates leadership skills
- Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site.

- Work towards attaining department goals and drive Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI/QA)

Supervisory responsibilities:Collaborate with clinical supervisor of operations and office manager to provide oversight to the clinical support team.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- RN, LPN, or Certified MA
- Must be licensed to practice in the State of Florida as applicable
- Current BasicLifeSupport (BLS) certification
- One (1) year of experience as a Medical Assistant, LPN, RN or deemed relevant by Human Resources. Five (5) years in a clinical role strongly preferred.
- Two (2) years at Premier Community HealthCare is strongly preferred
- Obtain and maintain Epic certification/ annual compliance throughout employment
- Obtain and maintain Annual Skills Competencies.
