Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Richmond, VA is hiring a Climbing Arborist Crew Leader. The office is outdoors, and you will enjoy great pay and benefits along with a $2,500 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants.

You will direct a crew, climb using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems, and perform pruning, cabling, removal, and installing safety systems while mentoring team members through Davey Career Development Program.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred licenses/certificates.
• Preferred ISA Arborist/Tree Worker/TCIA Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew and plan and execute assigned work using safety processes.
• Climb trees and perform pruning, thinning and deadwood removal in the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees and mentor crew members through the career development program.
• Maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers and aerial lifts.
