Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a Lead Cleaner in Austin, TX to supervise daily facility operations, delegate tasks, and guide the janitorial team in accordance with company standards. The role requires 18+ years old; no degree required. Preferred 1 year of supervisory and customer service experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., located at 7700 Parmer Ln., Austin, TX. Pay is $21 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma, GED, or college degree is not required.
• Preferred 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
• Preferred 1 year of customer service experience.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow assigned work schedules and route cards as directed; report any barriers.
• Provide leadership and direction to team members.
• Maintain open communication between field employees and management and monitor and document client communications.
• Assist with creating daily and weekly work schedules.
• Oversee and perform cleaning operations in the assigned building.
• Care for keys and access cards for the property.
• Report damaged, broken, and out-of-work features/items.
• Oversee additional service requests in the assigned building.
• Ensure quality of jobs and confirm completion with the Area Manager.
• Provide training for all new hires assigned to the building in accordance with onboarding procedures.
• Complete and validate time records for regular or subcontractor employees.
• Check supplies, equipment, and chemicals weekly.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Lead to ensure all facility operations follow policies and procedures. They coordinate daily operations by delegating job assignments and providing guidance. A Lead provides supervision at an assigned location when the Manager is not present. The Shift Leader demonstrates established standards to keep the buildings/facilities clean and safe for all workers and customers. This role involves operating specialized equipment, handling cleaning chemicals, and supporting general janitorial duties as needed.
