Job summary

NCW in Chandler, AZ, is seeking an experienced Class A Fitter Welder to lead a fabrication team on-site. You will interpret structural drawings, perform layout and welds, and coordinate with the Shop Foreman to meet quality and production goals.

The role requires 5+ years of structural steel experience, proficiency in FCAW/SMAW/GMAW, and a 3G AWS test. Candidates must work 10-hour shifts Monday–Friday with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of structural steel fitting and welding experience.
• Ability to read shop drawings and weld symbols.
• 3G Unlimited Thickness certification preferred.
• Experience with AWS D1.1 standards.
• Ability to pass a 3G AWS weld test with 1/16" dual shield CO2.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols.
• Perform layout, fit-up, and assembly of structural steel components.
• Weld using FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW per AWS standards.
• Verify dimensions, alignment, and weld quality before production.
• Operate fabrication equipment and cutting tools safely.
• Lead small crews and assist the Shop Foreman with daily task coordination.
• Train and mentor Class B and Class C fitters/welders.
• Set the standard for workmanship, productivity, and safety.
