Job summary

Billor is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Specialist to support daily Class 8 truck inspections, preventive maintenance, and quality control across the fleet.

You will work with Fleet Management and external vendors to validate repairs, monitor maintenance, and ensure DOT compliance, safety, and accurate documentation.

This role emphasizes hands-on inspections, data-driven maintenance, and partner facility oversight to keep trucks safe and on the road.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy-duty fleet inspections and maintenance processes.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA requirements.
• Ability to document defects with photographs and notes.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections of Class 8 trucks and pre/post-repair checks.
• Inspect critical components: engine, aftertreatment, transmission, brakes, tires, steering, electrical, air, cooling, fuel, fifth wheel, lighting.
• Identify mechanical and safety issues before breakdowns and downtime.
• Provide technical recommendations for corrective action.
• Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and fleet requirements.
• Validate repairs with partner shops and manage vendor approvals.
• Maintain inspection and maintenance records in maintenance systems.
