Job summary

CoVolt Power, a leading utility-scale EPC, seeks a Senior Engineer for Civil/Structural Substation Engineering to lead civil/structural design across multiple HV substations. You’ll supervise calculations, coordinate with clients and vendors, and guide junior staff while ensuring safe, compliant project execution.

The role demands a PE license, a BS in Civil Engineering, and 10+ years in foundation and transmission substations with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in one or more US states.
• BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• 10+ years in foundation design and/or transmission substations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; safety minded.
• Ability to lead tasks and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering calculations and review results.
• Collaborate with subs and staff on civil/structural design for substations.
• Develop finite element models and structural calculations.
• Create structure design and fabrication drawings with designers.
• Prepare reinforced concrete foundation calculations and drawings.
• Develop site-work drawings including embankment, drainage and erosion control.
• Coordinate with clients/vendors; attend meetings as needed.
• Maintain engineering documents and records accurately.
• Coordinate with purchasing and quality control personnel.
• Provide specs to procurement for equipment.
• Coordinate with contract administration to meet client needs.
• Mentor and develop less experienced engineers and designers.
