Job summary

Signal Energy LLC is seeking a Principal Engineer, Civil / Structural to lead civil/structural design for PV and BESS projects. You will develop standards, mentor the design team, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure constructable designs that meet client and regulatory requirements.

The role reports to the Director of Engineering and offers remote or on-site work in Chattanooga, TN, with periodic travel for client meetings and project site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Structural or related Engineering
• 10+ years of civil and/or structural design and engineering, including 5+ years in PV or BESS
• Professional Engineer license (one or more US states)
• Experience leading a team of engineers and designers
• Knowledge of AISC, ASCE, ANSI, ASTM and other applicable codes and standards
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, L-Pile and relevant civil/structural analysis software

Responsibilities

• Oversee civil/structural engineering deliverables to meet schedule, client and regulatory requirements
• Act as Engineer of Record for multiple projects
• Lead and mentor the civil/structural design team for PV and BESS projects
• Develop and improve design standards, templates and best practices
• Interface with clients and stakeholders to optimize project design and value
• Collaborate with other disciplines to integrate electrical/high voltage design packages
