Job summary

RICK Engineering Company in Irvine, CA is seeking a Principal Civil Project Engineer/Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams on landmark projects. You will oversee design, scheduling, budgets, and client coordination, ensuring compliance with CA codes and project goals.

The successful candidate will have a BSCE, CA PE license or eligibility, 8–12 years of experience (or 12–15 in equivalent), and at least 3 years of managerial oversight, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• BSCE degree and CA Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer or ability to obtain within six months.
• Minimum eight to twelve years of relevant experience; or twelve to fifteen years in the industry.
• Strong leadership, supervisory, and project management abilities.
• Experience managing contracts, schedules, budgets, and client/public-agency interactions.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D; knowledge of CA codes.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction documents and contracts for Civil projects.
• Oversee construction support, field coordination, and project schedules.
• Prepare contracts, proposals, and scopes of work.
• Lead design teams and coordinate with clients and public agencies.
• Direct staff and ensure regulatory compliance and quality control.
