Job summary

Rick Engineering in Irvine, CA is seeking a Principal Civil Project Engineer/Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team on landmark projects. The role involves managing contracts, schedules, budgets, and client relations with public agencies, while guiding design staff and coordinating field work.

Qualifications include a BSCE, CA PE license (or in 6 months), and 8–12 years of relevant experience. AutoCAD/Civil 3D proficiency is required.

Qualifications

BSCE degree and CA registration as a Professional Civil Engineer, or ability to obtain in next 6 months.
8–12 years relevant experience; or the equivalent 12–15 years in the industry.
Demonstrates independent thought and decision-making abilities.
Minimum of three years management experience supervising technical staff.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Demonstrate project management ability.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients/public-agency personnel and in-house staff.

Responsibilities

Management of construction documents and contracts.
Management of construction support and field coordination.
Management of project schedules and budgets.
Preparation of contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work.
Significant experience in client and public-agency interactions.
Management of Design and Support Staff.
Ability to perform conceptual and preliminary engineering design studies (land use, zoning, site constraints, infrastructure, regulatory issues).
Preparation/processing of regulatory plans and public improvement plans.
Ability to perform constructability reviews and range of construction support services.
Knowledge of CA jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures.
