Job summary

Metric Geo is seeking a Civil Project Engineer (PE) to take ownership of land development projects from design through construction on the North Carolina coast. You will lead site design for residential, commercial, and public infrastructure, delivering full construction documents through permitting and coordinating with leadership on client relationships.

Ideal candidates hold a PE license (NC preferred) and have 3–10 years of land development experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD, Carlson,

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE licence (NC preferred, or obtainable through reciprocity)
• 3–10 years of civil engineering experience with a focus on land development
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Carlson, HydroCAD, HydraFlow, and WaterCAD
• Proven track record delivering full construction documents through permitting

Responsibilities

• Lead civil site design across residential, commercial, and public infrastructure projects
• Own full project delivery - grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, permitting, and construction documents
• Collaborate directly with firm leadership on project execution and client relationships
• Navigate complex coastal regulatory environments including NCDOT, NCDENR, and municipal permitting
