Qualifications

• Minimum a BS in civil engineering; MS in geotechnical engineering preferred.
• Professional Engineer license in VA or able to reciprocity within six months.
• 8+ years geotechnical experience including field testing, lab testing, analysis, and construction support.
• 2+ years managing geotechnical projects from proposal to construction.
• Familiarity with AASHTO, Virginia DOT and state guidelines; alternative delivery/design-build procurement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organization.
• Proficient in writing/editing technical reports; strong computer literacy.
• OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead integrated design and transportation projects with a collaborative team.
• Understand client needs and meet goals for projects and company.
• Develop work scopes and cost estimates for new opportunities.
• Manage financial and technical aspects of projects.
• Assign and manage work to team members.
• Deliver projects to meet technical, quality, budgetary and scheduling requirements.
• Plan geotechnical field observation and testing programs.
• Prepare geotechnical analyses and recommendations for design/construction.
• Collaborate in a single profit center, team-oriented environment.
• Prepare project deliverables including reports, plans and specs.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written client deliverables and regulatory submittals.
• Demonstrate coaching and mentoring skills.
