Job summary

Cogent Analytics client, a growing civil engineering and surveying team in the Indianapolis area, seeks a licensed Professional Engineer (Civil) to lead the design, stamping, and technical delivery of land development, site design, and infrastructure projects.

You will collaborate with project managers, surveyors, and external consultants, manage multiple concurrent projects, and provide clear client communication while navigating permitting and construction phases.

Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineer (Civil) license.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Familiarity with land development and subdivision design.
• Experience with grading, drainage, and site utility design.
• Strong written communication for client-facing deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and stamp civil engineering plans including grading, drainage, utilities, and site layout.
• Interpret project specifications, engineering drawings, and survey data.
• Coordinate with municipalities, agencies, and clients throughout the permitting process.
• Perform engineering calculations and conduct quality control reviews on deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance to project managers during project execution.
• Participate in post-project reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians as needed.
