Company Description:

Scherer Design Group, LLC (SDG) is a privately-owned consulting firm specializing in Telecommunications, EV charging and Utility infrastructure design solutions. Headquartered in Lebanon, NJ, SDG is licensed in multiple states and certified as a Woman Owned Business Enterprise.

Role Description:

The ideal candidate is someone with telecom knowledge, intuitive thinking, and managerial talents that inspire others. This is a full-time hybrid role with a minimum of three days in the office. The Lead Civil Engineer will be responsible for the designing and review of new site builds while collaborating and leading other engineers and designers.

Responsibilities:

1. Design of telecom sites from conception to construction, including layout from scratch, antenna mount design & site plan approval
2. Development and review of construction drawings, specifications, and detailing for new and existing cell sites
3. Perform site inspections and condition assessments on existing sites and prepare reports
4. Lead and train Jr Engineers and CAD designers
5. Prepare sketches and perform drafting using AutoCAD

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with minimum 4 years’ experience, telecom experience preferred
2. If no degree, must have a minimum of 8 years telecom design experience
3. New site development experience required; tower sites/rooftops in tri-state area a plus
4. Experience with developing drawings in AutoCAD
5. Knowledge of building envelope structural components
6. Knowledge of construction drawing standards
7. Ability to perform inspections of sites and other structures, both visually and with instruments
8. Ability to record data clearly and write passages for reports, letters, etc.
9. Ability to drive and safely operate a motor vehicle
