Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Lead Coatings Insulation Fireproofing (CIF) Field Engineer for a Clay, NY project. The role supervises CIF field engineers, coordinates with superintendents, craft professionals, subcontractors, and engineering teams to ensure safe, on-schedule, and high-quality CIF work.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree and extensive experience leading field teams in coatings, insulation, and fireproofing; familiarity with IWPs, RFIs, drawings, and installation standards is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and typically 8–10 years of field engineering experience.
• Experience leading field engineering teams across construction, engineering, and controls.
• Knowledge of coatings, insulation, fireproofing systems, and installation standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise multiple CIF Field Engineers, set priorities and resources.
• Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, engineering, and quality teams to resolve field issues.
• Oversee development of IWPs, planning, readiness, sequencing, permits, and materials.
• Review drawings, field instructions, subcontractor submissions, and QA/field change documentation.
• Oversee CIF quantity tracking, material readiness, and turnover documentation.
• Promote safe execution and adherence to project requirements and schedules.
