Job summary

Bechtel is designing and building a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. The Lead Coatings Insulation Fireproofing (CIF) Field Engineer will supervise CIF field engineers and coordinate with superintendents, craft professionals, subcontractors, engineering, and project controls to ensure CIF work is planned, documented, and executed safely, with quality and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) required.
• Experience leading field engineering teams across construction, engineering, quality, and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of coatings, insulation, fireproofing systems, and installation requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and related documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise CIF Field Engineers, set priorities, manage resources and ensure project procedures are followed.
• Coordinate staffing, training, and workload for CIF scopes.
• Oversee development of Installation Work Packages (IWPs) and workface readiness.
• Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, engineering, and quality teams to resolve field issues.
• Review drawings, field instructions, specs, and subcontractor submittals for compliance.
• Track CIF quantities, material readiness, and turnover documentation.
• Ensure CIF materials and tools align with construction execution needs.
• Promote safety and quality, escalate risks affecting safety, cost or schedule.
