Job summary

Sioux Falls School District in Sioux Falls, SD seeks a Scarbrough Childcare Lead Teacher at Southeast Tech to oversee daily care and instructional activities for children. The role collaborates with team members to create a functional center for all age groups.

Preferred qualifications include a post-secondary diploma/degree in Human Development or Early Childhood Education and prior childcare experience. This is a full-time position with a hourly salary of $19.08 to $22.21.

Qualifications

• Education: Post-secondary diploma/degree in Human Development or Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience: Work experience in a childcare environment desired.
• Other requirements: Computer skills to use email, word processing, and spreadsheets; ability to communicate effectively; leadership and problem-solving skills; ability to work under pressure; understanding budgets and organizational development.

Responsibilities

• Support children’s emotional and social development.
• Assist in preparing learning environments and instructional materials.
• Keep records on individual children and activities.
• Instruct children in health and personal habits.
• Prepare food for children and serve meals.
• Sterilize bottles and prepare formulas.
• Organize and participate in recreational activities.
• Observe and monitor children’s play activities.
• Sanitize toys and organize materials to keep areas orderly.
