Job summary

Sioux Falls School District is seeking a childcare provider to care for and educate young children in a collaborative center setting. You will teach, interact, feed, clean, and supervise play activities while working with a team to keep the center prepared for various age groups.

The role emphasizes fostering emotional and social development, creating engaging learning environments, and maintaining records of daily activities and routines.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma/degree in Human Development or Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Work experience in a childcare environment desired.
• Computer skills: use email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
• Ability to encourage change and support colleagues with adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Support children's emotional and social development.
• Assist in preparing the learning environment and instructional materials.
• Keep records on individual children and activities.
• Instruct children in health and personal habits with assistance as needed.
• Prepare food for children and serve meals and snacks.
• Sterilize bottles and prepare formulas.
• Organize and participate in recreational activities.
• Observe and monitor children's play activities.
• Sanitize toys and equipment.
• Organize and store toys and materials for order.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Treat all adults and children with dignity and respect.
• Participate in staff in-service training when applicable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
