Job summary

Building Blocks for Tots of Wilson is seeking Lead Teachers for our licensed childcare center in Wilson, NC. The role requires a HS diploma or GED and an associate degree in early childhood education or higher, with background checks to be passed. Experience in childcare is a plus.

Typical shifts are Mon-Fri, 7:00am–4:00pm or 9:00am–6:00pm, with compensation of $14.00–$18.00 per hour, depending on education and experience. We offer paid trainings, a generous benefits package, and 401k with match.

Qualifications

• Previous childcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Substitute for any position as needed, covering breaks and absences.
• Demonstrate patience, kindness, and positive interactions with children, parents, and staff.
• Work as part of a team under the lead teacher's direction.
• Maintain safety and supervise children, with ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Adapt to varying classroom duties as assigned.

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma OR GED and the ability to pass all background checks, and an associate degree in early childhood education or higher. A plus if you have previous childcare experience!

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm OR 9:00am - 6:00pm

Compensation: $14.00-$18.00, based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities:

• Willingness to effectively substitute for any position as needed. This includes covering staff members' breaks, filling in for staff members in their absences, and assuming the classroom duties of staff members before or after their scheduled shifts.
• Demonstrate patience, kindness and positive interactions with all children, parents, and staff.
• Operate as a team player and willingness to help where needed under the director of the lead teacher.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
